Research Group Prepared under BZT Academy, Scientific Research on Rare Diseases was Carried out!

Rare diseases are defined as diseases that occur with a frequency of 1 in 2000 or less, most of which are progressive, metabolic, chronic and some of them can be fatal.

A research titled "INCREASING RARE THINKING AWARENESS: A CASE STUDY ON RARE DİSEASES FOR UNIVERSITY STUDENTS IN TURKEY" was conducted on university students in Turkey under the leadership of Yıldız Technical University Molecular Biology and Genetics 3rd year students Zeynep Simge YILMAZ and Sueda DURMAZ, BZT Academy researchers.

OUR PURPOSE: TO MEASURE THE LEVEL OF INFORMATION POLLUTION BY RAISING AWARENESS ON RARE DISEASES!

Baha Ahmet Yılmaz and Tuba Fırat, one of the founders of BZT Academy, used the following statements about the study:

Before starting this study, our aim was to measure the level of awareness of university students on the subject and the level of misinformation about rare diseases, since it is a rare disease group among people, just as it is mentioned in its name. For this reason, we tried to evaluate the data obtained by conducting online interviews with 183 students in total.

It was a process in which we felt the support of BZT Academy with us at every stage. We were quite surprised when we encountered many findings in the research we carried out over a period of more than 3 months in total. We presented our findings at the 5th International Congress of Science, Social and Health Sciences in a Changing World, and presented them to the criticism of other researchers. Finally, our full text will be published as an international book chapter in May. We have progressed through a process that we have tired many times, but which is quite enjoyable.
